Videocon A24 vs. Samsung Galaxy Star

There is an exceedingly hard-hitting competition among several mobile brands in the market. Samsung and Videocon mobiles are the two leading brands of mobile market that are in this tough competitive rage. These are two extremely accomplished brands of mobile market and the top most brands with some feature filled handsets. Videocon A24 and Samsung Galaxy star are among the best low priced devices under these brands. Videocon mobile price is seen to be on the lower side with its handsets as compared to Samsung. If we compare these two affordable handsets, we might get to know which one would be a better deal for a user to buy. Let us underline few of the major points that make them different and better from each other.

untitled

Design and Display

Videocon A24 is a candy bar shaped device that comes with dimensions of 123.3 X 64.3 X 11.80 mm. The phone is quite sturdy and with such shape and dimensions it is quite easy to handle. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Star comes with dimensions of 104.95 X 58 X 11.90 mm   and weighs around 100.5 gram. Looking through the measurements, Galaxy Star is a compact and sleeker phone than A24 but both possess a great design and easy handling with a comfortable grip.

Talking about the display, Videocon A24 has a 4 inch TFT display with capacitive touch screen and a resolution of 480X800 pixels. Whereas Samsung Galaxy Star has a 3.0 Inches TFT, capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 240X320 pixels. So with obvious observations, Videocon A24 will produce a better display with a better resolution and less pixilation.

Processor

Powered by 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor, Videocon A24 is a swift and diligent little device which will never disappoint you with its performance. It performs tasks with ease and lag free.
Talking about Samsung Galaxy Star, this handset gets its power from Cortex A5 Processor at a clock speed of1 GHz. Though it is not really far behind from the processor of A24, but according to levels of functionality, Videocon A24 would prove to be a better performer.

Operating System

Operating system of any mobile design depicts smoother functions and an interface which is easy and user friendly. With Videocon A24 it is equipped with the latest Android version of Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) that delivers the best you can expect from a low priced device. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Star runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is somewhere a level low than A24. So the deciding factor among these two phones has a clear winner.

Camera

Videocon A24 is a blessed device with a rear snapper of 3.2 MP. It also has a secondary camera of 0.3 Megapixels that can produce a resolution of 640 X 480 Pixels. The image resolution produced by this camera is 2048.0 X 1536.0 Pixels. It has digital zoom with an option to video capture.

Samsung Galaxy Star is equipped with a 2.0 Mega Pixels Camera that produces an image resolution of 1600.0 X 1200.0 Pixels.

With two cameras, better resolution and high mega pixel strength of the rear camera, Videocon A24 takes the victory here.

Memory and battery

Videocon A24 has an in-built RAM of 256 MB that is expandable up to 32 GB via the MicroSD card slot. Samsung Star has an inbuilt memory of 512 MB which can also be expanded up to 32 GB. So if we consider the inbuilt memory factor, though Galaxy star hasn’t got much under its hood but it is more than Videocon A24. So it takes a point here.

Putting some light on the battery front, Videocon A24 is embedded with a 1450 mAh Li-ion battery that delivers a talk time of 4 hours.
The battery power of Galaxy Star is 14 hours that comes from a 1200maH battery crusted in its core.
Well, as Galaxy star provides a better battery backup, so it would again gain a score here.

Verdict

Both are capable and well built devices and perform well but the number of features and price tag that Videocon A24 showcases would keep it in the first preference if choosing a phone among these two handsets.
